Filmmakers

Etienne Sauret is an independent filmmaker based in New York City. Sauret has been working for more than twenty years on numerous feature length documentaries as a Director, Producer, and Director of Photography.

Sauret directed and produced "The Lazy Man's Zen", a feature documentary on bikers that aired on The Discovery Channel and Arte. His next directorial endeavor came on September 11th, when he captured the World Trade Center collapse at Ground Zero in "WTC: The First 24 Hours". The film was an Official Selection at the Sundance Film Festival, and was later broadcast on HBO, TF1 (France), Channel 4, (UK) and German Television. Sauret revisited firefighters affected by the attacks in "Collateral Damages". Released to theaters in 2003, the film went on to win the Special Jury Award at that years AFI/SilverDocs film festival. In the mid 1990's, Sauret produced and directed "Too Pure", a feature film which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and was an Official Selection at the Hamptons Festival.

Sauret has also collaborated with well- respected filmmakers in his extensive career. Most notably he was the head Director of Photography for Eugene Jarecki's "Why We Fight", winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. In 2007 he completed work on David Holbrooke's feature documentary "Hard as Nails" which made its debut at the New York Film Festival and was shown later in the year on HBO. Currently Sauret is in post-production on a feature documentary examining scientists and research in the field of psychedelics and in production of a documentary exploring changing perceptions of female beauty in America.
